UAE Patents and Industrial Designs Registry at the Ministry of Economy has announced that Power of Attorney and other required documents will no longer required to be legalized by the Consulate of the UAE abroad; instead, documents attested by Notary will be sufficient for filing Patents and Industrial Designs.
For the notarization of local applicants, a stamp of a UAE public entity (e.g. government organizations, national universities) is now regarded as equivalent to notarization.
